Shape: The nakago is thick and sturdy, and although the blade is quite worn, the width and thickness of the blade are still substantial, making it a recommended piece.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with utsuri.
Hamon: A soft nioi-deki suguha with ashi and a gentle nioiguchi.
Features: Kikuchi yari are characterized by a dropped crown-like design with a thick blade.
They were popular from the Kamakura to the Nanbokucho periods.
Aoi Art’s Comment: This Kikuchi yari was found in Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyushu, and is a very rare piece.
