Jigane (Steel Surface):Well-forged ko-itame hada with attached ji-nie.
Hamon (Temper Line):Nie-deki suguha with occasional notare elements, resembling the hamon of Nagasone Kotetsu.

Features: Both the first and second generations of Ōmi no Kami Hōjōji Tachibana Masahiro inscribed their signatures in a nearly identical manner.
He was one of the leading swordsmiths of the Hōjōji school in Edo, and his style closely resembles that of Nagasone Kotetsu.
Both the first and second generations were known for their exceptional cutting ability.

Koshirae (Mountings):
Tsuba (Handguard):An iron tsuba in the Otafuku-gata shape, engraved with Mitsukashiwa-mon (three oak leaves crest) and vine patterns.
Menuki (Hilt Ornaments):Chrysanthemum motif.
Fuchi (Hilt Collar):Made of shakudō (blackened copper alloy), engraved with a chrysanthemum design and decorated with gold inlay.
Kashira (Pommel):Made of horn.
Saya (Scabbard):Kuro roiro (black lacquered), in Toppei style design, fitted with a kojiri (end cap).

Aoi Art’s Comment:The first and second generations likely worked together, as their works are nearly indistinguishable.
The signature style from the Kanbun era of the first generation is so similar to that of the second that it is difficult to differentiate between them.This is a highly recommended piece.
