Shape: This piece has a wide blade with a deep curvature, and is well-proportioned with a deep sori. The omote (front) side features a carving of a sword with bonji characters above it. The ura (back) side has twin grooves, and it has a mitsumune (three-sided ridge).
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with a beautiful texture
Hamon: Nie-deki hitatsura with a bright and clear pattern extending from the ridge to the tip, creating a vibrant and lively appearance

Features: This piece has a wide blade and a deep curvature, showcasing the charm of hitatsura.

Koshirae:

Tsuba: Shaped like an abalone shell, with gold-colored accents.
Signature: Akao Yoshitsugu
Fuchikashira: Made of shakudo, with a high-relief design of waves and gold-colored spray accents.
Signature: Omori Hideshige
Kozuka: Copper with a carved design of waves and spray.
Signature: Inoue Izumi no Kami Kunisada. Some small dents are present.
Saya: Brown with black stripes.
Menuki: Basket motif with wave carvings
Aoi Art’s Comment: Although this piece is unsigned, it has been attributed to Shimada Yoshisuke and comes with a certification. It is a solid work with a long mitsumune and a robust hitatsura hamon. The koshirae is also well-crafted. Shimada Yoshisuke's hitatsura is a timeless and impressive work, highly recommended.
