Features:
Taima school was active from the late Kamakura period to Nanbokucho period, and is said to be founded by Kuniyuki. At that time, large temples had great power and armed monks, and Yamatoden swordsmiths belonged to each temple. Taima School are said to have belonged to the Taima Temple in Nara. It is seldom that their works have signatures and most works are Mumei. Their style is often reminiscent of Soshu-den, with its intense nie and many Kinsuji.
