Features: Magoroku Kanemoto was the son of the first-generation Kanemoto and bore the title Magoroku. It is said that Magoroku Kanemoto had a fraternal bond with Izumi no Kami Kanesada.

Aoi Art’s Comment: The second generation of Kanemoto is renowned as Magoroku, a celebrated figure. Known as Seki Magoroku Sanbonsugi, it is believed that there is no such place as “Seki-jū” engraved on the blade, but rather “Akasaka-jū.” Kanemoto is thought to be a descendant of Akasaka Senjuin Kunikiyo.
The simple sanbonsugi design became famous due to its exceptional sharpness. Recognized as Saijo O-wazamono (extreme sharpness), Aoki Kanemoto is famously associated with cutting down Magara Juurozaemon. Other renowned Kanemoto works include the Ni-Nenbutsu Kanemoto of the Maeda family, Sashibun Kanemoto of the Hosokawa family, Daisen Kanemoto of the Yamauchi family, Sojo Kanemoto of the Okudaira family, and Sasayuki Kanemoto of the Makishima family. Magoroku Kanemoto and Izumi no Kami Kanesada are considered the foremost swordsmiths of Seki during the Muromachi period.
This solid, high-quality piece lacks flaws, making it an excellent acquisition opportunity.
