While the 1st generation made plain works with suguha, his works are more flamboyant with dynamic blade patterns. Around 1680, he gave his name to the son of 1st generation and changed his own name to Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane. He is highly regarded as one of the best shin-tou craftsmen. Especially in his later works, he is highly regarded as one of the best new swordsmiths for his gorgeous Towaran blade in the style of Sukenoh.
This work has fine Jigane, and the blade pattern has excellent workmanship such as Sunagashi and Kinsuji. Although it is regrettable that there are some Suriage and Machiokuri, it is a work of good quality.
