This piece is ranked as Jyo Saku (upper-grade) for works by Nobukuni Heishiro.

Shape:A slightly smaller wakizashi.
Jigane:The itame-hada (wood grain pattern) is well-forged, with fine chikei (dark lines) visible, showing a well-defined surface texture.
Hamon:The temper line is in a nioi-deki gunome-midare pattern, with active hataraki (activities in the hamon).

Features: Nobukuni Heishiro was a swordsmith from the Chikuzen province and is believed to have been active around the Shoho era (1644–1648).
Although the signature is not commonly seen, we cannot guarantee its authenticity.
However, the jigane is well-forged, and the gunome-midare hamon is well-executed.

Koshirae:
This piece features a robust toppyo-fu style koshirae.
Tsuba: Oval-shaped shakudo tsuba.
Fuchikashira: Made of shibuichi, engraved with a design of trees and butterflies in high relief.
Kozuka: Shakudo with nanako texture, featuring a floral pattern and inscribed with the name "Masatsune."
Menuki: Engraved with a pigeon motif, partially made with gold accents.
