Jidai : Modern times. Showa era

Era: Showa Period

Features:The white porcelain plate is engraved with images of the sun, celestial maiden, and an old pine tree, along with the phrases "Tenchi Sei daiki" and "Hakujyu Seibo Saku" carved across the entire surface.

Explanation:Bizan-yaki production began in southeastern Nagasaki Prefecture (Shimabara) in the 17th century. Although production was temporarily suspended in the Meiji era, it was revived during the Showa period. Despite being severely impacted by the 1991 eruption of Mt. Unzen Fugen, which destroyed the kilns, production has been revitalized in recent years.
