Aoi Art’s Comment: I have examined the signature, but it remains unidentified. This tanto is likely a work from the late Shinshinto period. It is possible that it was crafted during the ban on sword-making imposed by the Haitorei Edict. The nakago suggests characteristics of a Shinshinto blade.
