Shape:A slightly long naginata, robust and well-preserved.
Jigane:Well-forged, tightly packed ko-itame hada, appearing almost muji (plain) with excellent steel quality.
Hamon:A suguha-based hamon with a distinct secondary edge (nijuba).
The boshi turns back in a small round shape, and yakiba extends into the shinogi-ji.

Features: The smith was the son of Horikawa Kunitake and was known as Kawate Ichidayu.
His work is often compared to that of Hōjōji Masahiro.
A well-regarded swordsmith of the Horikawa school.

Aoi Art’s Comment:The jigane is finely forged, showing a beautifully dense steel grain.
The hamon is an elegant suguha with a well-aligned nijuba, and the yakiba extends deeply into the shinogi.
This is an aesthetically pleasing and highly refined piece.
