Features:
Gassan Sadakatsu is a representative swordsmith of Showa period. He was born in 1869 as a son of Gassan Sadakatsu 1st generation. He created works under his father's name until his fater died. He worked on swords for the Emperor, the rayal families and prominent military figures, and also on dedication swords for the Ise Grand Shrine. He made Soshu-den and Bizen-den styles, and the Ayasugi-hada devised by Sadakatsu is especially famous as a hallmark of Gassan's family. He also was a good engraver.
