Hamon (Temper Line):A nioi-based gunome-midare, with active ashi (downward streaks) and prominent sunagashi and kinsuji within the hamon.
The boshi (tip tempering) is rounded and curves back.
Aoi Art’s Comment:Osaki Yasumune was born in Taisho 4 (1915) in Yamagata Prefecture.
He was a disciple of Shimazaki Yasukou and Yakuwate Yasutake.
After the war, he was an active swordsmith, achieving three Effort Awards and fifteen selections in competitions.
He specialized in the Bizen tradition, producing highly regarded works.
