Shape: The blade has a slightly wide width with a solid thickness, a regular curvature, and an extended tip, resulting in a well-balanced form.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame, creating a beautiful surface with utsuri (a shadowy reflection) appearing.
Shinogi-ji: Itame mixed with mokume and masame, creating a pattern that evokes the age of the sword.
Hamon: Made with nie, a deep nioiguchi, and a long bōshi that curves gently back in a rounded manner.

Features: Ōsumi no Jō Fujiwara Masahiro is noted in the swordsmith directory (p. 336) as having created works on behalf of Horikawa Kunihiro.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Shakudō Kenjō tsuba.
Fuchi-Kashira: Shakudō nanako with two figures smiling while reading a book in a bamboo grove, partially highlighted in gold. Signed: Yasumori.
Saya: Decorated with scattered aogai (blue shell inlay).
Menuki: High-relief carving of a horse, with color detailing in gold.
Seppa: Two seppa made of pure copper, wrapped in gold.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is an excellent work by Ōsumi no Jō Fujiwara Masahiro.
The utsuri appears beautifully, and the fine ko-itame jigane creates a high-quality surface. The hamon is exceptional, and the koshirae is also very well crafted.
