From Aoi Art: Gassan forms a unique geological feature called twilled cedar skin. It is said that after the Fujiwara clan was destroyed by Minamoto no Yoritomo, they relied on Haguro Yambushi to go to Dewa and changed the name of the sword to Tsukiyama. In the mid-Muromachi period (1336-1573), it became customary to write "Gassan" on the swords dedicated to Haguro Gongen, and at that time, there were many such swords as Chikanori, Yukitsune, and Toshitsune. This sword with twilled cedar skin was eventually lost, but was revived by a Shinshinto, Gassan Sadakazu. This piece is a rare Ko-Gassan and is long enough to be recommended.
