Hamon:Choji midare with Sunagashi and Kinsuji. Boshi is rounded.

Features: Kashu Ju Ecchu Kami Takahira is famous as the 1st generation of Kanewaka. His first name was Kanewaka and changed to Takahira when he receive the title of Echizen Kami around 1615. NBTHK certificate says the inscription was made by the 2nd generation Matasuke. The 2nd generation Matasuke was a son of Takahira. Takahira made a characteristic square midare hamon, and the 2nd and 3rd generations also had a similar style. The 2nd generation also made Choji midare in addition to that. The 1st to 3rd generations were especially famous as excellent swordsmiths and were popular among Kaga Sasmurai from the Edo period.
