Shape: the blade is wide and thick and has deep curvature and an extended kissaki, making it well-proportioned.
Jigane: Itame-hada with a beautiful grain.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare, with a midare-komi boshi and Yaki in Shinogi-ji.

Features: The old provincial name occupying the northeastern part of present-day Okayama Prefecture, a place famous for Japanese sword production.
Aoi Art’s Comment: While Okayama Prefecture is known for Bizen swords, Mimasaka also belongs to Okayama and has been known for sword production since before the Edo period. This piece is long and robust, and we recommend it for its reasonable price.
