Features: Yoshihara Shoji(Kuniie), a mukansa swordsmith, was born in 1945 and raised in Katsushika, Tokyo. He became a mukansa swordsmith after winning numerous awards, including the Bunkacho prize, Kaonzan prize, and Kanzan prize. This particular sword, too, is an exceptional work and highly recommended.
Aoi Art’s Comment: Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to produce fine works like this. The rising cost of charcoal and iron sand, as well as labor costs, are affecting the production of swords. Even polishing fees have gone up, making it challenging for mukansa swordsmiths to create such remarkable pieces.
