Features: Masayuki, a disciple of Masachika, whose real name was Ichiji Masayoshi, began producing works around the Kansei era (1789).
In Kansei 1, he received the title Hokinosuke and changed his name to Masayuki.
His works extend to Bunka 14 (1817). He passed away at age 87 in Bunsei 2 (1819).
Masayuki was also known as an educator of swordsmiths.
It is said that he produced works similar to Motohira, with a distinctive nakago feature—a shifted ridge line towards the middle of the tang, a measure intended to prevent counterfeit signatures.
This technique was common among Satsuma swordsmiths and warrants close inspection.
