Features: The renowned Hizen school is exemplified by master swordsmiths such as the first Tadakiyo, second Omi Daijo, third Mutsu, and the eighth-generation Tadakiyo.
This particular piece, crafted by the 8th Tadakiyo, is well-recognized among collectors.
Notable for its exceptional clarity, the superb forging of the jigane, and the intricacies of the hamon, which features a deep nioiguchi, active ashi, and hataraki.
This blade was recently rediscovered in the registry of a Fukui domain daimyo, with its provenance documented as Fukui 782, dated April 13, Showa 26 (1951).

Aoi Art’s Comment: Although this blade was crafted by the 8th Tadakiyo, its quality rivals the works of the second-generation Omi Daijo.
The highly refined jigane and dynamic, deeply engaging hamon immediately convey its exceptional craftsmanship, even among Shinshinto works.
This piece is rare, beautiful, and a must-see for any collector.
(As a lighthearted note, we wholeheartedly recommend this piece—no embellishments here!)
