Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token)
We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku. This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku, an excellent work by Enju Nobutsugu.
Habaki: Gold-covered single habaki.

Shape: A well-proportioned katana with a broad width, thick kasane, and a deep curvature. The extended kissaki adds to its refined appearance.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame mixed with masame, displaying a clear and prominent grain.
Hamon: The hamon showcases spectacular sandan-nagashi and kinsugi activity, reminiscent of Kiyomaro’s style. The boshi is midare-komi, turning back sharply.
Features: This sword was meticulously crafted as a special commission for the President of Hokushin Trading Co., Mr. Katsunori Nakagawa. Though originally created with great care for its intended owner, it has now come up for sale following the passing of both the father and son. The attention to detail and precision in crafting reflects the importance of the commission and the intent to avoid any flaws during production.
Aoi Art’s Comment: Enju Nobutsugu, the son of the renowned swordsmith Minamoto Moriyoshi, pursued his craft with a stylistic inclination toward Kiyomaro’s work. Although a modern blade, it has earned the Tokubetsu Hozon Token designation.
