We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku.
This sword is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works of Izumi no Kami Kunisada (Inoue Shinkai).
Polished.
Habaki: Silver single layer.
Blade Length: 66.3 cm (26.10 in).
Curvature: 0.6 cm (0.24 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base: 3.0 cm (1.18 in).
Width at Tip: 1.95 cm (0.77 in).
Thickness: 0.75 cm (0.30 in).
Sword Weight: 655 grams.
Era: Edo period, 1654.
Shape: The blade is slightly wide with a thick back and extended kissaki.
It has a good curvature and an excellent shape.
Jigane: Beautifully forged Osaka Jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome midare with a deep nioiguchi.

Features: Kunisada mainly created swords with shallow curvature typical of the Kanbun Shinto style.
It is rare to find swords with ura-mei (signature on the reverse side), and this one, dated August 1654, is particularly valuable.
This work was made by Inoue Shinkai on behalf of his father.
Although not fully matured, the hamon and blade shape show the characteristics of Shinkai.

Koshirae:
Saya: Black stone texture with family crests engraved on the kojiri in shakudo.
Tsuba: Circular shakudo nanakoji with a fan pattern.
Fuchikashira: Silver base with detailed engraving of waves.
Menuki: Long shakudo menuki with high-relief cranes.

Both the koshirae and the work of Izumi no Kami Kunisada are excellently crafted.
The ura-mei is complete and historically significant.
