Aoi Art’s Comment: Sotsutomu began learning from his father, Masamitsu, at the age of nineteen and started his career as a swordsmith, earning numerous awards. In 1990, he was recognized as an uninspected swordsmith. He focused on the Soshu tradition, aiming to emulate Kiyomaro and produced many masterpieces. Sadly, he passed away in 2015. This sword shows the high level of his technique, with kinsugi visible even at the kissaki. The nakago is crafted in the Kiyomaro style. Munetsugu was a swordsmith from Fukuoka Prefecture, whose work will be highly valued in the future. This daisho, created on the same day, will likely be considered a valuable asset.
