In Kansei 1, he received the title Hokinosuke and changed his name to Masayuki.
His works extend to Bunka 14 (1817). He passed away at age 87 in Bunsei 2 (1819).
Masayuki was also known as an educator of swordsmiths.
It is said that he produced works similar to Motohira, with a distinctive nakago feature—a shifted ridge line towards the middle of the tang, a measure intended to prevent counterfeit signatures.
This technique was common among Satsuma swordsmiths and warrants close inspection.
