Features: Chounsai Emura, the warden of Okayama Prison, opened a Japanese sword smithy in the prison with the help of Ichiryushi Nagamitsu, a swordsmith who had been serving an army warrant, and had inmates make military swords. I don't know whether Emura himself was a swordsmith, or whether he inscribed his name on swords completed in prison, but many swords with the Emura name have been carefully polished and are of excellent workmanship.
