Shape: A robust piece with a noticeable curvature and an extended kissaki, showing a healthy form with a visible unsharpened edge.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada, close to a muji texture.
Hamon: Small nie-deki gunome-midare, with bright kinsuji activity and a midare-komi boshi.
Features: Hojo Hiromasa, known by his real name Kame Matsuo, was a swordsmith from Ehime who resided in Tsuji, Hojo Town, Onsen District. He was an army-commissioned swordsmith, a recipient of the Gold Cup at the New Japanese Sword Exhibition, as well as awards from the Prime Minister and the Army Minister. He was a disciple of Takahashi Yoshimune and passed away at the age of 45 in Showa 28 (1953).

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a well-preserved piece, almost fully polished, displaying a vibrant gunome-choji midare. Hojo Hiromasa was a well-known swordsmith during wartime.
