Special feature:
Terukane was an apprentice of the 1st generation of Echigo Kami Kanesada, then adopted and succeeded to the 2nd generation. Around 1680, he gave the name of Echigo-Kami Kanesada to the son of 1st generation, and changed his own name to Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane. In his later works, he produced gorgeous style hamon similar to those of Sukuhiro. He is highly regarded as one of the best shinto swordsmiths.
