We divide the quality of swordsmith works into four categories: Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku. This sword is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among Mumei (Ichimonji) (Fukuoka) works.

Shape: deeply curved O-suriage mumei blade with Bohi.
Jigane: fine Koitame hada with Midare utsuri.
Hamon:Niedeki Choji midare with ko-ashi and yo. Boshi is midarekomi style.

Features: There were various branches of Ichimonji, including Yoshioka Ichimonji and Katayama Ichimonji, and generally speaking, Ichimonji refers to Fukuoka Ichimonji or Yoshioka Ichimonji. The reference to Ichimonji on the NBTHK paper probably also refers to Fukuoka or Yoshioka.
The blade pattern is gorgeous and splendid, although a little blurred. The fact that the blade pattern on the tip remains clear shows the soundness of this piece. The clear Midare-Utsuri also make up complex pattern, which gives it a flamboyant style. This piece was polished in September 2024 by Setsuo Takaiwa, a renowned polisher who had polished swords for Ise Shrine.
