Shape: shallow warp and a narro point, typical of the style of Kanbun Shinto.
Jigane: fine Ko-itame hada with dense Jinie. There is some Chikei.
Hamon: Ko-niedeki, Suguha mixed with Notare and Gunome, with Sunagashi, Kiinsuji and Ashi.

Features: Izumi Kami Kaneshige was swordsmith from Echizen, originally an arrowhead craftsman, and late became a swordsmith and worked in Edo. He is believed to have receive the title of Izumi Kami around 1625, based on his age inscription. His swords have excelltn cutting ability and is famous as the favorite sword of the great　swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.
His is considered to be Kotetsu's master because of the similarity in style with Kotetsu. Similarities can also be seen in Yamato Kami Yasusada and otheres, so it is thought that Kaneshige's techniques were passed down to many swordsmiths.
From Aoi-Art: This work has a simple style at first glance, but when viewed from an angle, the Sunagashi and Ashi appear in a caried and splendid Hamon. It is a fascinating work and I recommend it.
