This piece, unsigned and attributed to Raikunitoshi, is ranked as Saijyo Saku.

Shape: Usual width and thickness with a slightly elongated tip in a polished unsigned style.
Jigane: Fine Ko-Itame Hada well-packed with Ji-Nie; reflections appear.
Hamon: Straight (Suguha) with a bright and clear Nie, small soft Ashi near the edge, and a softly rounded boshi returns.

Features: Raikunitoshi was active around the mid-Kamakura period, a son of Kuniyuki and known as Rai Magotaro, producing works of high quality and grace.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: An irregularly shaped tsuba with a depiction of a military ship.
Menuki: A carving of a boar in gold inlay.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako base with high-relief carvings of pine trees, birds, and people, decorated with gold inlay.
Saya: A black and vermillion inro carved scabbard.
Kozuka: Shakudo nanako base with a high-relief carving of pine trees covered in snow, decorated with gold inlay.
Kogai: Shakudo nanako base with a high-relief carving of pine trees covered in snow, decorated with gold inlay.

Aoi Art's Comment: Raikunitoshi's works are particularly noted for their beautiful Jitetsu, which has a blackish tinge and visible landscapes within the steel when observed closely. The Hamon is a straight line but includes fine details like small feet along the edge, and the presence of Nie creates reflections, indicating an exceptionally high-quality creation. This piece is highly recommended.
