Era : Edo period.
Shape : The proportions of the body, width, and curvature are all healthy. The curvature is slightly deep, and the tip extends, creating a dynamic blade.
Jitetsu :The fine grain is well packed and clearly visible.
Hamon (Temper Line): The hamon is a mix of small gunome (wave-like pattern) and activities of ashi, giving a straight blade appearance. The bōshi is deep and round, with a sharp return.
Special Features: Also known as Ichi-no-jō, the eldest son of the first generationTegarayama Kainokami Masashige.. Later became a monk named Kōetsu. Passed away on February 15th of the 3rd year of Shōhō.

Tsuba: Round iron tsuba carved with a cloud and dragon motif.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanakoji (shakudo with fish roe pattern).
Saya: Black lacquered saya.
Menuki: Brass base with a dragon in high relief.
Aoi Art's Note: This piece is a work from the 2nd generation Katsumune in Edo Province, Musashi. Notably, the jihada is excellent, featuring a superb blackish jihada with fine texture.
