NBTHK Paper states that it is unknown which region of the swordsmith Takamitsu is from in this work.
This piece was made for one-handed use. In the Muromachi period. In the late Muromachi period, wars intensified and swords were mass-produced, leading to a decline in quality. 
This work was made in the middle of the Muromachi period, so the quality is still good. Jigane is clean and the Utsuri is visible. It has a unique shape with thick Shinogi and thinning towards the Mune.
