We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This work is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Bishu Osafune Harumitsu.
Polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade Length: 7 sun 9 bu (23.94 cm / 9.42 in).
Curvature: 0 cm (0 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.3 cm (0.91 in).
Thickness of Rim (Kasane): 0.61 cm (0.24 in).
Sword Weight: 165 grams (0.36 lbs).
Era: Late Muromachi period, around Eiroku era.
Shape: Wide and thick blade, with Bōhi carved on both sides.
A robust and well-preserved piece.
Jigane: Fine Koitame Hada, well-forged and of excellent quality.
Utsuri appears clearly.
Hamon: Ko-Nie-deki, Gunome Midare.

Features: It is a well-preserved tanto by Bishu Osafune Harumitsu, known for its excellent Jigane.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Shakudō with gold and silver patterns.
Fuchi-Kashira: Shakudō with gold inlays depicting ocean waves and flying birds.
Kogai: Shakudō with wave patterns and splashes in gold, signed "Yanagawa Naotane".
Kozuka: Shakudō with wave patterns and splashes in gold, signed "Ōmori Hidetoshi".
Kogatana: Signed "Mitoshizumi".
Saya: Made to resemble tree bark.
Menuki: Shakudō with a high-relief carving of a crab.

Aoi Art’s Comment: Harumitsu is distinguished from Yasutada and Kiyomitsu.
He is thought not to have produced many mass-produced works.
This piece is notable for its robust and excellent condition, with clear Utsuri.
The tanto and its koshirae are superbly crafted and timeless, making it a highly recommended work.
